Changes for the 2025/2026 Season

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES FOR THIS UPCOMING SEASON:

Volunteer Hours and Fees

Volunteer hours will remain at 4 hours minimum per athlete. A post-dated cheque will be collected by your team manager for $300 with a date of Feb 1, 2026. If the minimum hours have not been completed by that date then your cheque will be cashed. Please note these volunteer hours are above team level* volunteer hours and are typically completed at our home tournament(s). There may be additional hours available beyond that which would be communicated to all families.

If you know that you want to opt out of volunteering for the season, you may select the option to include the $300 fee at registration.

*Coaching and team manager roles are exempt

Goalies

There will be an $85 fee again this season for all goalies from U11-U18. This is the Affiliation Fee set out by PCAHA.

Payment Plan

We have kept the extended second payment date. Half of the payment will be due at registration, and the remainder is due by Aug 15. There is still no additional cost if choosing this payment method.

"A" Teams

There will be an A team for U13, U15 and U18. By registering for Rep Tryouts, you are declaring your interest in trying out for A.

We have had A2 teams in prior seasons. Deciding factors:

  1.  How many players have registered for A Tryouts. Is there enough for two teams?
  2.  Skills of players trying out for A. Do the evaluation scores show that an A2 team is warranted?

Note: by tiering C1, this keeps an A2 opportunity open. If this team is placed in a Gold flight for tiering games and is above all of the other teams in the flight, the C1 team may be asked to move up to A2 by PCAHA.

Tryouts/Evaluations

Rep tryouts will start Tuesday Sept 2. You will be able to find the Evaluation Schedule for Phase 1 and 2 soon.

U11 - U18 "C" Teams

The Female League tiers all teams in divisions from U11 through U18 with the goal of ensuring that teams are placed into an appropriately competitive grouping. U21 teams may be tiered at the discretion of the responsible Managing Director.

7.3.1 NON-HC-CARDED TEAMS - TIERING VS BALANCING

While not a requirement, it is strongly recommended that Associations within the Female League tier their Non-HC-Carded players based on skill when an Association has enough players to form two or more Non-HC-Carded teams within a given division (U11 through U18). While Associations with two or more teams within a given division may balance some or all of those teams, it is not generally recommended except in cases where the Association has more teams than the expected number of flights within the given division. The responsible Managing Director may, at their discretion, require an association to tier two or more of their Non-HC-Carded teams in a given division if, in the Managing Director's opinion, the balancing of those teams will create a competitive imbalance or otherwise negatively impact the division.

U7 and U9

As changed in the 2024/25 season:

The PCAHA Female Committee have approved the request for associations to increase team sizes to 15-18 players. Our final team sizes will depend on registration numbers but plan to keep teams rostered at 15 players. U7 and U9 teams are not tiered.

Please note:

  • PCAHA Female is not implementing Major/Minor like the integrated teams
  • the increase in team sizes allows some associations to have one large team instead of two small teams. Two games can then be played utilizing the minimal ice that association may have.
