Player Development
Women's Hockey is one of the fastest-growing sports in Canada. The Surrey Falcons believe in the importance of developing girls with life enhancing values (integrity, respect, and perseverance) while promoting healthy choices through the game of hockey. It is important for players to develop their hockey skills within their own age level and gender, as well as with players with like-abilities. The social interaction and team skills that our players gain from playing together is invaluable.
Surrey Falcons are proud to boast about our weekly development sessions that we offer to House and Rep Teams as a regular part of their season. The two streams of development for female hockey players challenge all players within female hockey. Attendance is expected to be treated the same as any other practice and/or game.
U7 - U18 (House)
We will be using Kaivo for our weekly development sessions this season again. U7 and U9 will be more skating focused, while U11 - U18 will be more skill focused.
U13 - U18 A (Rep)
Goaltender Development
The Surrey Falcons Goaltender Development program will once again be led by Lynden Sammartino and LS Goaltending Consulting.
The Goaltender Development program will run bi-weekly and is open to all U7 - U18 players. This year we will be splitting the sessions into two groups - U7 to U13 House and U13 A to U18 (all). We strongly encourage the younger females who are interested in a goaltender position to come out and try the sessions with the older females so they can participate and learn with experienced players and determine if this is a path they may want to continue with.
We will have some extra goaltender gear in smaller sizes (U7 and U9) for those wishing to participate (available on a first come basis).
