PCAHA Announces Elite Female AA League for 2025-2026 Season
The PCAHA Female Hockey Committee is thrilled to announce the next chapter of high-performance female hockey: the launch of a new PCAHA Elite Female AA league sanctioned by BC Hockey and Hockey Canada for the 2025-2026 season, starting with the U13 and U15 divisions.
Establishing this league is an important part of the exciting steps being taken to evolve high-performance hockey in BC for Lower Mainland female athletes. The goal is to provide a competitive, player-focused environment in elite female hockey while upholding the highest standards for coaching and development.
PCAHA Elite Female AA is working to establish a sanctioned pathway to above-minor programs such as U18 AAA and collegiate hockey. Here’s what to expect:
- Elite Female AA will operate on a not-for-profit business model that includes strong, independent oversight by individuals with extensive experience in elite sports.
- The league will enhance player experience and sustain accelerated development by employing quality coaches with demonstrated success in high-performance hockey.
- There will be 4 competitive teams based on geography to allow for local play with a structured and consistent schedule made of weekday practices, weekend games, and dryland/skills sessions.
- The teams will participate in AA and AAA travel tournaments to bolster player exposure to elite competition across North America.
Mark your calendars for Evaluation Camps starting April 2025!
